Trip Description

Join Robert Wesley as we explore the riverbank meadows on the stretch of the Hudson River between Warrensburg and The Glen. These are some of the best botanizing areas in New York State — period. The species richness and the odd-seeming assemblages of species are unrivaled. We will see bog or fen species growing with dry prairie species, and likely many rarities. We may be able to see Viola novaeangliae in flower.

Meet June 11th at 10:00AM at the Hudson River Recreation Area on Golf Course Road north of Warrensburg. Bring lunch, water and appropriate gear for predicted conditions. Sturdy shoes for walking on rocks are recommended. Some may prefer rubber boots for walking in water.  We will be returning to the cars late afternoon, likely between 4 and 5 pm.
