Trip Description

The NY Flora Association and the Adirondack Land Trust are collaborating to present a botanical training program pioneered by the NYFA.

Join us for a free field trip to High Meadow Preserve in Lake Placid to learn how to identify 10 bryophytes (mosses and liverworts), while enjoying a sneak peek of the property that is not yet open to the public.  This trip is appropriate for beginners and more advanced bryologists.  The terrain is flat but sturdy footwear is recommended.  Bring water, a snack, note-taking gear. Be prepared to repel ticks and biting insects. A 10x or 20x hand lens is essential.
